AOS dribbling oil after track day - a result of overfillig?

Before a recent track day I topped up with oil one bar (led display) above maximum. Is this too much? I am just now seeing an oil leak from somewhere. I will get into it today and try and spot the source. From the location it appears to be right under the AOS. Would my overfill have caused the AOS to become overwhelmed and start leaking.

The car has never leaked anything so I am a little freaked out right now. I sure hope I am right

if you've never replaced your AOS, it sounds like your bellows may be headed south. one bar on the oil fill indicator is only like a cup of oil; it wouldn't cause a leak.

I had the same problem after a day of autocross. Small drip on the garage floor for the first time. Looked like the leak was under the AOS as well. I cleaned the engine bay with degreaser and the leak hasn't come back. Maybe the racing loads overwhelm the AOS

The RMS blew out!

Wow! The RMS blew out and it was the new type!

This is not the best way to end the season

Later in the day the drip moved to the centre "danger area" and I really started to worry. Sure enough the new RMS popped out somehow

There are orings on the tubes that connect into the AOS. One could be dried out and seeping. If You Need an AOS I have one. Part #996.107.026.01 this is the one that mounts on the head not the block. I purchased this one then the Motor sport one and installed http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1319251611that one instead.
