GAHH Top & 30K Service?

Does the 30K service require engine access? If so, this would be the first time the engine would need to be in service position with my GAHH top and I am wondering if this is going to add to the service cost if there are issues with access. Just wondering. Thanks.

It's just a replacement top. There isn't any reason it would cost extra to service.

Hello, I am assuming you have the aftermarket glass window. I am told dealers charge 2 hours extra. My friend, who has a porsche shop on Chatham n.j. says it is a tight fit, but you can still change airfilter without having to remove top. Peter

I talked to 2 mechanics at my dealership. They had to disconnect the back of the top.

We recently had a tech session at an indy and he said he called the upholstery top than installed it to have it disconnected.

I did not ask if there was a charge.

that is dissappointing to hear, esp. if they charge me 2 hrs of extra labor....

I have a GAHH glass-window top. I don't remember what all is done during the 30,000 mile service, but I've changed my own air filter as well installed a new air/oil separator. I'm sure it would be easier with a standard top, but it wasn't that difficult.

docdyh, let us know what happens.
