Removing the throttle body,I'm stuck

How in the world do you release the throttle body from the goldish/brown bracket located underneath it? It's a 99',non e-gas and I'm frustrated as heck.

This bracket? If so there is a bolt goiung through it you need to remove, see hole?

Whoa! Thanks! Here is the thing though.....whenever I go to turn it,the rubber that it's ran threw twist and turns accordingly=nut doesn't loosen.

Maybe it needs a shot of WD40 or Liquid Wrench to loosen the nut?

blinkwatt 03-03-2007 12:55 PM

Ok got it off,now the bracket it twisted!?!?......This is flippin annoying. Sorry about the pictures,it's hard to get the camera focused. Look at the golden bracket,Ohio's is straight, mine is twisted.I attached a picture of the throttle body cleaned,at least 1 thing has gone right so far.

Off to the junkyard to get another one, again look at Ohio's compared to mine(twisted).

djomlas 03-03-2007 01:34 PM

why dont you just bend it back in place?

I tried, that piece is really sturdy. I even tried hammering it,that did nothing but scratch it. I went to Mazda Porsche, the junkyard and got one for $10,so no biggie. The guy who held me tried to bend it back into place but it was a no go for him as well.

ohioboxster 03-03-2007 04:32 PM

I think I have mine, want me to look? Nevermind just read your reply.

blinkwatt 03-03-2007 04:47 PM

Thanks anyways Ohio. Now that everything is put back together it's giving me P0150/1124/1126,I'm starting to think that my o2 sensors are going bad. Makes sense car has 55k on it,they are known to go and now it's giving me codes that indicate there is no circuit to one of the sensors.
