New to Forum and 987S has arrived!

Hi All,

I have been lurking here for some time now waiting for my car to arrive. Ordered my 2007 Boxster S in late Sept/06 and it arrived at my dealer in Toronto last week. The members here provide an excellent service with owner advice and it was helpful in my decision making process to be sure. I owned a 2000 Carrera 2 Cab some 4 years ago which I traded on a 2003 Z06 which was then traded on this Boxster, but this is the first car I have ever custom ordered from a factory. The waiting is quite painful! Due to travelling outside the country I will not pick it up until the last week of March but I did stop by last Saturday when in town for the Toronto Auto Show to check it out and took some pictures to tide me over. If I can figure out how to post them I will and certainly I will take better ones when I get it home and post them. It was very helpful for me to see photos of other members cars prior to placing my order.

My order is as follows:
987S in Guards Red with Sand Beige Full leather
6spd Manual
Black Top
19" Carrera Rims (came with Michelin's)
Adaptive Sport Seats
Sport Design Package
Painted Wheel Crests
Smooth Leather Wheel (not Sport)
Sport Chrono Pkg
Wind Blocker
Aluminum Painted Rollbar
Floormats

I think thats it!

no....forgot the Porsche Crest in headrest!

Wow! That looks amazing! Love the new body shape and that rear bumper is very cool. Especially like the spoiler. Enjoy your new ride.

996 -> Z06 -> 987S
What a natural progression towards the logical and unavoidable conclusion.
Congrats and welcome. Beautiful Box!

Thanks!

The Sport Design Pkg is the front spoiler, rear (Cayman-like) spoiler and the rear air diffuser which is actually supposed to work at I am sure must be very high speeds. That option was the hardest to decide on due to the cost ($8,200.00 Canadian) but all doubts evaporated when i saw it. Looks even better in person.

I am pretty sure you have added an extra 100 hp to my car bmussatti...I wish!

IMO, 8k CAD is way too much money for those things, but glad you liked it in person.

Agreed.

Like most things in Canada, we pay waaay too much but we just suck it up. A Base S here is $77,300.00 and mine came to $98,775.00 (list) with the options added in. From what I see on this forum there are some high prices paid overseas as well. Our USA friends have it pretty good when it comes to pricing.

Cheers!

Question

Middle Age Crazy

I hope to be in your position soon... also from T.O. I'd like to ask ...

Which dealer did you end up buying from? DFC or Pfaff? and why?

Do you mind sharing what kind of deal can you get in the T.O area when ordering direct from the factory.

Were you happy with your salesman?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Congrats on your 987s.

Hi Philpots,

I read your earlier post....good luck!

Toronto is my closest dealer location. I live about 200 miles west of TO. I dealt with DFC this time as I got the best deal from them trading in my Z06. It was tough to get good value for my trade due to the fact there are quite a few for sale here and my car only had 8,000kms (5,000 miles for our USA friends) and had never seen rain since new. It was flawless.

My salesman is Jimmy Lin and I would highly recommend him. Competent and respectful of the customers needs. Very professional and has lots of patience! He made the deal happen on my terms.

As a side note, I have had dealings with Pfaff and cannot fault the service there. Also very courteous and professional. I have friends who deal there and are very satisfied.
