Driver side threshold**updated with shop manual links

I have an 02 base and I am trying to remove the driver side (and passenger I suppose) factory threshold/sill which contains only the front and rear trunk release switches (I don't have the seat memory option).

I can see that on the inside of the threshol/sill there are two plugs. Once removed I can get the tip of a screwdriver in there but can necessarily "feel" a torx head. I know it has to be ther but does anyone have any idea what size it is??

I am trying to remove it so that I can refinish it. It seems the previous owner had a habit of dragging his/her feet across it causing the rubberized finish to peel. Underneath I can see black plastic, the same color as the original finish. I'm either going to peel the rest of it off and leave it, or paint it a flat black color.

Thanks,
Jeff

That looks important enough to be a sticky. Just my opinion.

I originally found that site by going to this site: http://www.porscheteam.nl/werkplaats/handboeken/handboeken.html

It is mostly in Dutch, and says the links won't work unless you use Mozilla Firefox. So, I fired up the Linux computer and Viola! all the links worked. I then just decided to direct my Widows computer to the hosting site (the www.canell.co.uk/Boxster_Manuals/) and found that directory. The site has manuals for tons of Porche models.

I hope that helps.

Jeff

PS found some others that might be helpful. Maybe an admin could comment on wether or not there are any issues woth poisting these, but in the mean time...
