That's because the wire is fed from behind the unit, down, and up into the lockable center console, so that I can lock the ipod up when not in the vehicle.
You do have to also purchase the eclipse iPC-106 interface adapter (
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/viewitem.php?id=7468) though. It works with a lot of the eclipse stereos, but the benefit of the 6600 is an on screen interface, again, so I don't have to be playing with the ipod while I'm driving.
I'd get you a picture of it and the interface on the screen, but the cars away in storage.

It basically looks just like the regular interface for the radio or CD, with track name, song length, skip buttons, etc. You just have to make sure your mp3s have the correct id tags
