Celcius to Fahrenheit

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the AC temperature unit from celcius to fahrenheit and vice versa? It's for 2000 Boxster.

Thanks.

Double it and add 30

To switch from C to F:

Hold down the recirculating button then push both the temperature +- buttons.

Sorry I don't remember if the car has to be started first, try both ways.

not to highjack the thread, but does that change the out side temp to ? cause I have been wanting to change it.

Holding the recirculating button and pressing temp + - doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

Good reason to buy a new Boxster.

I tried all combinations of buttons to get it to change, but the only thing that worked was getting the dealer to change it with their computer. This is on a 2002.

Same here. Dealer hooked up the computer and set the car to 'Canada'. Every single unit was changed to metric. I found how to change the speedometer but the temperature readings would not change at all until the dealer changed that flag on the car's computer.

Agreed. Can't be changed using recirulation button on my 2002 either.

I researched this also, seems like it works up to 2000, I could not access the Climatronic hidden controls on my 2001. Like you I tried numerous combinations and was unable to find a solution. I hope someone else had better results! The unit is the same as the ones used in Audi's but even their threads did not provide any results that worked for me.

Tried it in my '99 - no go.

Is it possible to change the outside temp and obc units from US to metric units with the computer the dealer has?

^Thanks. Weird how Porsche made totally different clusters, and making it impossible to change between the units.

Mark_T 05-23-2010 07:39 AM

Actually, it does work in my '99, but not by pressing both the +- buttons. Just hold down the recirc and the temperature + button and it changes F to C. Press it again to change back.
