Zaino Lovers
For the owners who love Zaino, I just received an e-mail from Zaino about 2 new products:
Zaino Z-CS- Clear Seal, a polymer synthetic protectant that is simply allowed to self cure. Z-CS dries without wiping off or buffing. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-CS Zaino Z-AIO- All In One, is a cleaner, polish and protectant. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-AIO Go to www.zainobros.com for more info. |
Zaino Z-CS sounds interesting, so do you just buff it on, then forget it?

Thanks for posting that. I standby Zaino but I know I couldn't go for 9 months without waxing the Boxster. I've been in withdrawal since it's been covered and plugged in in the garage with it's last coat of Zaino a month ago. :(

One suggested use from the link:
"Use Z-CS as a base for Z-2 or Z-5 PRO, then follow up with a final application of Z-CS" Sounds like a bit much. I mean, how many layers/products can one put on the poor car before people start questioning his sanity? :) But I do feel the drive to get this Z-CS and add to my already sanity-jeopardizing detailing collection. just chiming in about Zanio I absolutely LOVE it! It's a must of your shelf.

Love it all -- except Z-8. That stuff is evil... have never got it to look right. Z-6, no problem. Z-8 = splotchy mess.

I bought some Z-5 and it was ok, but it was nothing to write to mom about. It doesn't really cover up the slight swirling as well as expected. The Z2 is an excellent product though and highly reccamended for shine and protection.

Thanks! Any tips on the dilution ratio - is it 1 part water to 1 part Z-8, etc?

Donv, here is what Sal told me in an e-mail:
"NOTE: Z-8 is EXTREMELY concentrated and can be a little finicky in hot, humid weather, but it is definetely worth it... When applying multiple coats of Zaino polish the same day, especially on darker color vehicles.. I would highly recommend waiting a couple of hours before appyling Z-8. If Z-8 should ever streak,... Just wipe the area with a damp towel and the streaks will disappear. Z-8 is extremely concentrated, less than 1/3 ounce will do the whole car. You are applying way too much. Remember less is better with Z-8... Z-8 is sprayed directly onto the paint surface. A small dime size is sufficient for a 2 foot section on the car. Immediately buff with a 100% cotton towel until dry. You will feel the surface get slicker and slicker. Turn towel frequently. Repeat on next section until entire car is finished. Do not let Z-8 dry on car. If Z-8 drys by itself just reapply Z-8 to affected area and rebuff until completely dry. Then get the sunglasses out. Remember: If Z-8 should ever streak,... Just wipe the area with a damp towel and the streaks will disappear NOTE: Definitely do not use Z-8 spray on a hot paint surface. It is heat activated and will evaporate too fast and will be hard to work with. Although I do not recommend the following... If the above fails... Take a small spray bottle.. Get Distilled Water and dilute the Z-8. Start out diluting it in small proportions until it works the way you want... " |
