Honda S2000 Type R

This looks pretty cool if they actually produce it. I, of course, will stick with my Porsche but nice upgrade for Honda fans.

I'm more interested in what Honda's going to do to fill the void left by the RSX's departure. I had intended to get another after my current lease is up on the VW. They've got not only the K20A four-banger lying around, but also the new turbo four from the Acura RD-X. The Civic Si isn't quick enough for me, plus no hatchback in the states :(

If that type R was around before I got my boxster, you can bet your ass I would be driving it.

Make of car is 100% irrelevant.

I had a RSX-S and loved it. It was a very tuner friendly car and balanced the fun to drive vs every day driving factor very well. I have also wondered if Honda would use the turbo K20 in an all new mid level sports coup. A turbo K20 in a wider S2000 would really hurt Bosxter sales by eliminating the two biggest drawbacks of the S2000; the cramped interior and lack of low end tq.

if that was the case, how many people would choose that car over the Boxster?

That's funny you should mention that. A friend of mine has an early S2K and when I got my Boxster he immediately wanted to run them. I'm not a big fan of racing people as I'd feel like an idiot if something were to happen. That in mind and both of us agreed we needed a track to do this on. He arranged it all and we ran 3 times. Every time, I took him off the line and up until about mid 3rd then he would get me every time on top end. Kind of pissed me off but, at the same time I have a new found respect for a stock Honda that actually has power.

I still like my car more than his though.:)
