New Hardtops!

Has anyone seen these new hardtops? They look amazing! I'm going to save my money to get one sent over here. They are only made in the U.K. right now. Check out this link to see them.

Yeah, I posted them a while back... I think they were about $10,000 if I remember.

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

You're right, I didn't look close enough. Same concept... a little different design.

What does this Zientop look like? You've got me curious now. Do you have a link for it? I would like to see it too.

Google zeintop. It is a "cayman"-esque Hartop/hatch. It requires you to remove the rear trunklid. Seems cumbersome. not sure how heavy it is either.

Actually, I e-mailed them and the guy told me it would be $5,750.00 with shipping. So they are about $2,750 more that the regular factory ones from Porsche.

Except you can get a used Hardtop for typically between $700-1200. So. That's about $4000-4,500 more. (minus painting if you can't find a match)

Yes true, but look at how different the 2 hardtops are shaped. The one I posted makes your car look like a 911 or the new shape of the Cayman. They are drastically different, so I think the newer design is definately worth it. Plus no one else would have one here in the U.S. I like to be different.

Sorry, spyder, but I really don't like that hardtop. The rear window is WAY too big.

( Love your car though, those stripes look sharp ! )

Just my opinion

But, why would I buy one car only to want to make it look like something its not? Its a Boxster.

I guess spending $6000 for a hardtop would make you different

Zeintop Update

Hey everyone,

I've been following along the numerous discussions about the Zeintop (when they'll be available, how much, etc.). I noticed that several people inlcuded links to zeintec.com in their posts, but I also found the US Website, which includes links to dealers in each state. If you're considering this top (I agree with most people - seems too expensive), I would start there, and bypass e-mailing the Zeintec folks in South Africa/Switzerland. Seems like they've given different people different quotes, etc. The US Website is a better place for info IMO.

I'm going to go see one here in LA that is in the process of being installed - I'll try to take some pics and share what I learn.

I talked to the guys in CA when I got the price info. When you click on the link for dealer they all point back to Autotech Innovations in CA no matter waht state I chose.

I look foward to the pics, if these were the same or close to the factory price I might jump, no way for 5K plus shipping across the country. I would still have to think, not sure howI feel about re-installing my trunk and cover to go topless again.
