paint code

Hey, does anyone have any idea what the paint code is for a standard black 1997 boxster? I'm at the office (where my side skirts and rear diffuser are located) and my car is at home and I want to drop off the parts this afternoon. Any help would be appreciated!

If you don't have a renntech membership, it's L719.

My car sticker says L741, but I have a 99.

Renntech shows 741 for Water Based Paints ( 99 - 01 ) and 747 for Conventional Based Paints ( 99 - 01 )

Hope this helps...

Nick

Thanks guys! That's exactly what I needed. You saved me a trip to the house and a one day delay.

You may be right, Nick. I was going by the 986 Parts catalog, which doesn't list L741, but L741 is listed on a paint website as Porsche's black clearcoat, and hell, it's on your sticker...

Just got back from the body shop. Had another boxster in there for hood and front bumper work. This makes me feel a lot more comfortable with a shop that I chose without a referral.

Anyway, the guy quoted me $100 to paint the two side skirts and the rear diffuser pieces. This includes sanding, putty work (or whatever they use) and paint with flex additive and a clear coat over the top. Not bad, huh?

He also said I could pick them up in two days.

I will report back on how the pieces look when I get them on Thursday or Friday.

Sat. looks sunny, so I'll be installing them I guess.
