TEXANS! TOD caravan!

Those of us that are planning for the Tail of the Dragon meet this coming May, maybe we should meet somewhere and caravan the rest of the way? I've driven from Austin to DC before, and figure we'll be mostly along that route.

I think we should plan on getting to Kentucky, and our hotel, Friday evening. Maybe we should meet in Texarkana or even Memphis sometime that Friday.

As we nail down times, and figure drive times, we'll have to plan on a time. We'll also have to plan on a location, so anyone familiar with the areas could suggest a location along the route.

Also a good idea, if you don't have one, get one - one of those Motorola walkie-talkie radios. They are invaluable on a road trip like this! I have one already, and it has come in handy. You can get a pair of them for probably $30 or so, or get the more expensive ones.

It's not likely this Texan will go. If you hit up through Dallas, I'd do a photoshoot/meet & greet, but it isn't exactly on the way.

The last time I drove to Virginia from Austin, I went through Dallas (then over to Texarkana and through Tennessee). I guess it would depend on the timing, based on when we want to arrive in Kentucky, whether or not I/we could stop in D. The Houston guys would have to go out of their way, but the Dallas guys and CenTex people could probably go through Dallas.

Send a message via AIM to Travis
Got all excited about the trip, then was reminded by my daughter that her graduation ceremony is May 3rd in Florida. Oh well maybe next time. She is a law student, so if I fail to show up I am sure she will sue

Travis, drive to Florida for her graduation, then up to the TOD with us!

Fray, my buddy and I will be leaving on Thursday from Houston and you're more than welcome to caravan with us. We'll stop in New Orleans or somewhere half way... I have yet to look at a map.

Since I work with churches all over the country, I was planning to call one wherever we needed to stay and ask for a couch for us... you're welcome to join us, but I can't guarantee free accomodations just yet, but I'll work on it.
