Rim Repair
Is there an easy way to cosmetically fix curb rash on rims? Deep curb rash?
|
Hi,
Cosmetics isn't the only thing you should worry about, especially for Deep Curb Rash. The wheel can be cracked, out-of-round and/or unbalanced due to the loss of material. This can cause high speed shimmying, accelerated tire and suspension wear. Light Rash can be fixed on a painted rim using a high metal content epoxy, sanding it and repainting the rim. For anything else, it's best to have the wheel commercially repaired. This is usually about half of the cost of a new wheel, but the job's done right. There are a number of places which do the work, and probably one near you. Try: http://www.specwheelsdenver.com/index.html , though they aren't the only ones. Hope this helps... Happy Motoring!...
