best way to remove paint on bumper

happy new year all!

i was backing up and slightly grazed a wrought iron gate w/ my back bumper, bottom half. right where the rear tire fender well is. now i've got brown scuff mark on my nice dark blue ride. how can i restore that??

i did a search here but didn't come up w/ the answer. if you've got the thread, let me know.

Try spit first. If it went through the paint and left a gash, your best bet is to get a polisher and a real fine cut polish. Maybe a clay bar would do it.

Auto body shops use a cleaner that removes excess wax, dirt , oil ,etc prior to painting. It removes most household paint as well but does not remove car paint. I used this when my wife ran into our garage and it worked very well. I also gave some to a friend who applied some paint to the front of his brand new Jeep Cherokee by rubbing it on a building. It won't get rid of scratches though.

try bug and tar remover, googone, rubbing compund, something like that.
when a guy sideswiped my other car, the whole left side was white, all his paint, 99% of it came off w googone
