Boomerang shaped meta, to protect front bumper
I remember an after market part to attach to under the front bumper, boomerang shaped metal piece.
I have had the 25 years so it might of been long ago. Is this ringing a bell, are they still available? DCM |
986 boxster lip kit and google?

Performance Products made them years ago, not sure the company even still exists.

YMMV but personally would avoid. Good luck  |
I bought and installed a used boomerang guard several years ago and really like it. I think that the 'rip away' worry is a bit overstated.
I can snap and post a picture of mine here next week if anyone who has never seen one wishes to do so. DM |
I'm curious.

Turns out that I took some snaps during the installation years ago.
You will recall that I mentioned that I had bought it used, so scratches courtesy of previous owner: http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1781560326.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1781560346.jpg |
Forgive me, I can’t see what the benefits of that are supposed to be.
|
Thanks, makes sense.

I do understand the principle, but what harm does a scratch on the bumper do? Besides, the scratches remain invisible. At some point, a refurbishment will be needed anyway, as stone chips also leave their mark. Nobody would think of bolting metal plates onto it here either.
But I don’t want to go into that any further here ;-) |
