Water pooling on doorsill after rain

Hello,
So I have an issue with water pooling up on the doorsill after a heavy rain. When you open the door, it pours out. Several ounces it seems. Only happens occasionally, and both doors.

It isn't coming from inside the door, I popped the plugs and it's bone dry and dusty inside. That was my first worry, for rust.

I attached a photo of the sill after, I couldn't catch it running out in time, but it's pooling under the sill guard. Doesn't seem to be anything on the interior side. I circled the spot where it runs out from under the guard.

To me, it's seems like the only way would be from it running down the side surfaces of the door opening, but who knows.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It could be the same or similar to what I discovered. I had a wet carpet and figured out my door membrane was fine. So I opened the door and sprayed huge amounts of water to the glass with a garden hose. What I then discovered is shown in the picture. I renewed that rubber gasket and since then it is dry. My recommendation is doing the same spraying with the open door and you quickly find out what the culprit is.

Thank you, looking at my pic I do have some water dripping down at the very front of the sill. To be clear it's not the window seal, but the gasket at the front?

Yes, it is the seal that covers also the mirror assembly, check 996 537 531 05 for details. I tried to squeeze the seal in this area, rearranged it and used glycerin to make it soft and was successful. Ther is also a piece of adhesive that sticks to the door. But tbh, I did not trust this success and swapped it to a new one in the end.

Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it. Sorry for the delay, I've been away from the car as it was stored for the winter.

So, another symptom is the bottom of the door card carpet on yhe driver's side is soaked. I can't for the life of me tell where it's coming in, but it's not from the rear drain area. Firewall carpet and floor carpet is bone dry.

What's stranger still is that during the last rain I had a half top covering the convertible top, and about 6" down the doors, so the window seals were completely covered. Still wet door carpet. I will check the seal on the front of the door.
Time to dry everything and get the hose out. Cheers

Posting back to say I've solved the problem of the wet driver side door.
Using basic self adhesive weather stripping, I put one peice across the front of the door above the hinge, angled down and outwards so that any water running down that spot would be directed to the outside, as shown in that pic posted by 997_986
I also put another peice, about 6" long, down the inside edge of the car body where the rear part of the door behind the handle hits- just below the where the convertible top drain into the door gap. There's an existing pad there but it doesn't seem to hit the door weatherstripping anymore, flattened with age.

I don't know if one or both solved the problem but it's dry as a bone now. I'll probably replace the wx stripping with something like silicone. Unless I just dont bother.

Cheers!

I adjusted the door lock a bit so that the door is firmer to the gaskets. This is an additional measure you could try. And use some products especially designed for these gaskets to make them soft (again).
