Convertible top linkage Advise Needed

Hello, I replaced the plastic gears in my top's transmission,( it's been in manual operation for a while ) and I am guessing the linkage get's re-connected in the service position, correct ?, I did line the 2 marks up on the transmission case with the cable like your suppose to. ? Thank's Frank

Yes, you need to connect those rods while in the service position. I removed the boot cover deck to get in there easier. Use a rag or something to cover the drain holes. I dropped the nut when attaching mine and it rolled in there adding hours to the job to fish that out. It takes a lot of fussing to get the rods lined up if you don't have the originals with the depth already set. My drivers side kept popping off and the cap would break before I got it right.
