Boxster 986 Throttle body / Resonance Tube?
Hi
Crawling over my Boxster, I have spotted a broken piece on the forward-most throttle body tube. It looks as though a plastic "button" is missing from the top. The part has the code 5.02704.0 but seems to correspond to "99611013002 Intake manifold air tube with vacuum unit. Porsche 986 Boxster / 987 Boxster" on a parts diagram. I would appreciate your thoughts on whether this is a problem and if there are any diagnotic tests I should try. Thanks Russ http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1767028082.jpg |
Has your car thrown any codes? Upon examination do you recognize any parts absent a vacuum connection? Maybe a broken off plastic line that WAS connected to the tube? As a vacuum associated part... if you're not having any problems... I wouldn't worry about it.
A parts diagram would reveal what is the part number for whatever is meant to be plugged into that port. A wiser mind will chime in shortly. Good luck. |
Where is the location of the vacuum operated pneumatic valve that opens the resonance flap on the intake plennum?
Doesn't that valve goes on top of the white plastic shaft on the plennum? Cannot remember clearly.. |
Thanks guys
Looking at the parts diagram this moulding does not take a pipe or tube. It looks to hold the top of the axle of the resonance tube flap. That said, it looks like a press to test fixture. I was not sure if it should be gas-tight with a gasket or some-such. |
