Litronic repair

Hi, I just picked up a pair of litronics. The driver side light was pointing too far down, so I tried to adjust it. The adjustment was doing nothing at all, though. So I popped open the housing, and both the motor adjustment with the black ball and socket joint and the other white ball and socket joint are mostly broken. I can get it locked into position, and when it is, the vertical adjustment works, but I think after hitting a couple bumps it will probably just fall right out of the joints again.

Has anyone completed a repair like this? I don't need the motor function since its retrofitted into a halogen car, so I'm considering something even like superglue at worst since I got this set quite cheap and the passenger side appears to be good.

Which parts are broken? You mention the ball and socket, but likely it is either of those? I found that balls and sockets are available cheaply, so first check whether you can replace those. A picture wouild help..

Yeah here's the white one, the socket specifically is broken. I don't have a picture of the black motor one, but same deal the socket is broken.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1762304349.jpg

I don't know much about 3d printing, but maybe this part can be replicated from a good one.

Yeahh, maybe. I wish there were more parts availability for the internal headlight assembly but I don't see anything at all online

I have a damaged driver's side Litronic that I can pull parts from. Do you just need the white plastic piece?

Do you have a US address? I generally don't ship international anymore.

Wow, that would be awesome! Yes that's the one, and then on the opposite side there's another black ball and socket joint which I think is attached to the headlight motor? I can try to get a picture tomorrow if you're not sure what I'm talking about. And yes I'm located in California.

Here's what I have. One of the white parts has a crack, but I think it will still work for you.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1762485114.jpg

I can do $15 shipped if you want it.

Sounds good, I'll pm you to arrange all that. Do you happen to have the cup/socket that the ball on the black piece goes into?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1762492052.jpg

That socket was broken on the Litronic that I had, so I looked at a standard Halogen light. It is part of the adjuster assembly and not easy to remove and replace. Since my headlight was already damaged, I expedited removal by breaking the stubborn part. I think that with some intuition and patience it can be removed intact.

The part with the ball is longer on the Litronic that on the halogen that I disassembled, but looks like the critical dimensions are the same. Both are included in the package.

These parts often break in shipping. This is a large part of the reason that I don't do conversions anymore. Best to pick up in person when that is an option.

Everything arrived perfectly and I’m super grateful for the parts since it means I have a shot at fixing a headlight that is otherwise basically totaled/parts only or forever just a not very valuable source of light. Haven’t had the chance to tear apart the headlight yet and fix it but I’ll update here when I (hopefully) do
