How easy to fit 98651463402… small trim piece
Mines got ‘spider corrosion’ I could rub it down I guess but new ones ex ‘design911’ aren’t crazy money about £18. It’s the small metal strip directly behind the door, black colour. It is shown in the attached image ‘toothed’ looking piece at the bottom left of the image no 14. Or I could rub it down and delicately paint.
Part number 14 picture set 811-13 https://www.design911.com/uploads/images/diagrams/diagrams/986_2004_8_11_811-13.jpg?width=545&height=628 Can’t upload a picture. Can anyone help me on this one? |
why replace #14 when all you can see is #16?
|
#14 part is totally visible. iirc #16 pops off to expose two rivets that hold #14 to the chassis. riviets need to be drilled out to replace #14. and new rivets when done.

to repeat - 16 pops off. the assembly is designed to connect the porsche roof rack system.

Has anyone popped this item “16” plastic trim cover off to get at the rivets without destroying it?. Is it possible to get it off and replace it without buying a replacement??
|
buy a sharpie and colour it in.

It's been a while since I pulled them off, but I don't remember it being difficult. Pretty sure I carefully pried it slightly inward, then up with a plastic trim tool. Note the small lip on 16 that tucks under 14.
