Can I buy a spare tire lug lock socket?

I've had a buddy who lost his locking lug socket, and I don;t want to end up in the same situation, so would like to get a spare.

Is it possible to get a spare?

If so, where/how?

The best place to get one is a Porsche dealership.
I have a coffee can full of them and might be able to match with yours.

I hate locking lugs and replace them with plain lugs on every Boxster I get. They won't slow a competent thief down.

I was thinking of just doing the same thing (replacing the locking lug nut with a regular).. Any idea where I can get 4 lugs.

Here's a pic of my security lug nut socket, 8 nibs, equally spaced(?): anything you got that looks to match?

For $25 (assuming shipping is to Austin, TX) I'll send you some lug bolts that you may want to clean up and a lock socket that looks right. Otherwise, a dealership, Pelican Parts, or FCP Euro should be able to sell you new bolts.

Go to the dealership, someone will have to come outside with you to figure out which key to sell you. At this point, ask to just remove the lugs quickly while theyre out there with the master set of keys after they figure out which key fits your locking lug. It's what I did, took 5 minutes and I drove home with 4 bolts per wheel and avoided paying $50 for a new key.

How can I private message you?

Can't seem to find it anywhere on the forum website.

I just sent you a message. If you are logged in, you should be able to click on a user's name to open a menu to send a PM. My inbox shows that it's 98% full so I can still receive a few more messages before I clean it out again.
