Fuel sender leak or gas tank leak?
1 Attachment(s)
Boxster 2002 - code P0455
I checked all the lines and didn’t find any leak. The only sign of leak is at the top of the tank / sender. There’s a strong smell of gas in the cabin. I replaced the sender’s gasket, but the smell of gas persists. I noticed that the connectors show signs of leak. Do you think is worth to replace the connectors or I need to replace the sender? Please look at the pic before I replaced the gasket. |
You more likely have an EVAP system problem...............

On the 997 I was able to actively control the bleeder valve to test it with durametric, I don't know if this is possible on the 986, only the US versions have the canister ...

Please note that on the Volvo, fuel tank there are two inspectiond covers, one at each side of the tank, one for the fuel pump and the other one for the float assembly, but I believe that on the Posche, that white plastic is the base for the fuel pump and float assembly, therefore you may have to install a new fuel pump assembly.. Good luck! |
Thank you Gilles. That's what I'm afraid of. I'll inspect it to see if I need to replace it.
