Help me with a personalized plate...

2007 Boxster S, Alaska plate, so plates will be pretty easy, as there are not a lot of Boxster's in Alaska.

Let the games begin.............................

I'm a little confused, your User I.D. info says you are from Pebble Beach yet you say Alaska Plate, what state will it be driven in?

If in Alaska,"Coldbox","Boxster","Porsche", "987BoxS" if there aren't alot there you should be able to have anyone of those,o.k. well maybe not "Porsche".

How about ICEBOX.......sounds catchy.

djomlas 12-16-2006 10:11 PM

very original

thomschoon 12-17-2006 04:41 AM

Being old, I have applied for what most are thinking anyways: CMPNS8 I have also applied for LILDIK for my 911

Spy, check with your state's DMV to see if they offer a web site to test availability on personalized plates. They just started this in Illinois, and you can check in an instant.

Hi,

How about BAKster? or AK 987? or Au Rush? See DMV here: http://www.state.ak.us/dmv/faq/vanity.htm

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

another vote for ICE BOX

deliriousga 12-17-2006 08:22 AM

I you'll be in Alaska, then I'm with the others on ICE BOX.

z12358 12-17-2006 08:23 AM

+1 for ICE BOX

Ronzi 12-17-2006 08:43 AM

Since the car will be used in probably the most inhospitable possible climate for a roadster, how about YACNVT.

986Roadster 12-17-2006 10:11 AM

how about "INMYBOX"

how many letters do you get to put on. we used to be able to put 8 or 9 letters, now down to 7.

pecivil 12-17-2006 10:19 AM

gotta go with ICEBOX. Very clever.

Spy4cia 12-17-2006 10:28 AM

I live in AK six months of the year...

...CA the other six.

So, the car will be in BOTH CA and AK.

ICEBOX is very good!!!!!

But, keep the ideas coming.........

BAD NEWS ------------------>

When I entered ICEBOX: SORRY, YOUR REQUESTED PLATE HAS ALREADY BEEN ISSUED

husker boxster 12-17-2006 01:53 PM

How about XLR8.

I think Caddy missed a great opportunity with that name.

RandallNeighbour 12-17-2006 03:10 PM

In AK, you can only have six letters or digits. I just checked the web site. This dramatically reduced the variations available to you.

Mine read SCHNLL... wanted that 7th for the E so bad but I cannot until Texas gets as large as CA... and then I'll move away because it will be too densly populated for me!

Here are some 6 digit ones I decided against, but thought were fairly fun:

2FAS4U
SOCOOL
WASHIS <-- Funny as heck if you are a woman
ZOOOOM <-- Or any variation with more z's or more m's or more o's
GUDBYE
SOLONG <-- Could be misconstrued as bragging, but hey, why not?
IGONOW
BOXER <-- Your engine's design
PORSHA <-- Correct pronunciation always helps
I WIN <-- One digit used as a space
URSLOW
IMFAST
CMEGO
HI REV <-- One digit used as a space
TOPLES <--As in, without a hard top
PCAR
DRIVER
SUMRYD <-- double meaning... summer ride and some ride!

Hope this gets your creativity flowing.

I'd avoid anything with speed references, you will lose the possible warning ticket right away and have to race every fast & furious Honda with a SS pipe.

Perfectlap 12-18-2006 02:01 PM

my fave:
HOT BOX

Rodger 12-19-2006 12:21 PM

It's all in how creative you can get! The original ICEBOX is gone, but variations remain......

1CEBOX (owned by your's truly)
IC3BOX
ICE8OX

Etc.....

I also had NEIN86.

For SCHNEL (remember, 6 characters!), you could try 5CHNEL, SCHN3L, SHNELL, etc....

TOPLES is taken, but TOPL3S and TOPLE5 remain.

I'm in Anchorage, shoot me an email when you're in town.
