Convertible Top Problem

I just pulled into my garage with the top down in my 2003 Boxter S. The top will not go up. I checked all the fuses that I thought controlled the top, but no luck. Any other ideas on what could be the problem? Help is appreciated.

Thanks

Does the "Park" light illuminate when you pull up on the parking brake?

Parking Brake

I see nothing on the dash. Are you thinking I may have aproblem with the parking brake swich? If it doesn't know the parking brake is on, the top won't go up or down?

Connection Problem

I messed around with the console trying to get to the parking brake switch and it now works. I never got to the swith but when I put a few pieces back together the parking brake light came on. I must have a connection issue or an intermittant switch problem. Thanks for the help.

If you're driving with a "red clip" make sure to remove it. If you don't your top won't come up.

I am not sure what you mean by a "red clip", so I assume it is not there. Could you help me understand. Thank you.

THe "red clip" is an accessorie item usually sold at Porsche dealers for very cheap. When your top is down, the red clip inserts into the area where the front windshielf and the convertible top meet. IN short this clip fools the security system into thinking the top is up. Thus if anyone breaks in while top is down the system will activate.

Glad you got it to work again.
It is not all that uncommon, often a few up-down pulls on the parking brake will remedy the problem, dirty contacts maybe or simply a loose connection.
