Sport Muffler YES or NO

I’ve done my research, haven’t asked AI this time, and even though I think I have an understanding, I would still like to hear your valuable opinion!

Should you swap your stock exhaust/muffler from your 2001 986 2.7 and install a sport exhaust/muffler from the 986 model “S,” the one Pelican Parts currently lists for ~$1,400…

Is the investment worth the gain of the notorious extra 10 HP? Or is the investment merely rewarded by a louder car?

✌🏻

Don't. Explore alternatives for that extra 10.

Id say DONT. for that price and very little noise difference, i doubt itll be 1400 improvement. There are threads here on people modifying their stock exhausts and being very happy with the results. Some doing it themselves and some taking it to a muffler shop and paying $200. Basically drilling 1 inch holes inside.
