Strange window not micro dropping

Hello there, I just bought my first Porsche, 2001 Boxster S, with only 57k miles. It has been neglected in the last couple of years and I'm slowly fixing it piece by piece. Now the problem I'm looking right now is the passenger side window doesn't micro drop when the door handle is pulled. I replaced the microswitch and thought that would fix the problem but it didn't. The motor doesn't make any sound when I pull the door handle, I can hear the microswitch being pressed/clicked but no other sound. The window works as normal with the up/down button, it also goes down when the convertible top is unlatched.

Besides the microswitch in the door latch it's also common to have cracked solder joints. Another issue is worn plastic where the microswitch makes contact, but if you hear the switch, that's probably not your problem.

I had similar symptoms with my 2002 passenger window not dropping. When I would lift the handle I would hear what I thought was the switch and nothing else. Turns out I was hearing the switch and the window motor all at once. The window regulator cable was either stretched and/or the pulleys were worn enough that the motor would turn, but the window wouldn’t drop due to slack in the cables. It would move every so slightly, but it was hard to tell without really watching for it. Normal window operation was fine the rest of the time.

My recommendation is to look for, or feel for a very slight movement of the window when the door handle is lifted. It may be needed to take the door panel and vapor barrier off to see if the window regulator/motor is moving or not.
