and Now it Won't Start
Follow-up on a prior thread-
2000 986 Installing a bluetooth add-on from Pelican. Still no power to the orange wire on the back of the stereo, but works when I plug into an external USB port. But now the car won't start. I suspect I shorted the orange wire. Does anyone know where the orange wire gets its power? Which fuses or relays might have been fried? Other places to look? |
The car started and ran well before I started fooling with the stereo.
Now when I turn the ignition key on all dash lights come on but no clicking, no fuel pump noise. If I turn the headlights on & try to start it, the lights dim completely. It's a 2000 Boxster Base, manual trans. So here's what I've tried so far: - Battery is charged, tried a battery from another car - Tried another key - Checked all fuses that appear to have any relation to audio or ignition - Jumped clutch switch - Replaced start lock solenoid (local auto parts store generic) - no joy - Swapped start lock solenoid with AC compressor solenoid - no joy - Jumped start lock solenoid pin 87 & 30 - Starter Turned but would not run - |
Found it-
Checked fuses again E-9 was blown Starts and runs now |
