Windstop latches right and left - installed today
 

I installed new wind stop latches, right and left, on my clear windstop today. One latch was broken, the other 20 years old, so I decided to go with a new one. The new ones are an improved design. To top it off, there is a service bulletin that tells how to do it. For the record, these are part no. 986-561-737-01-01C and you have to specify Right or Left when you order them since there doesn't seem to be a part number specific to R or L. The new latches turned the loose and rattly windstop into one firmly planted in place. I'm going to try to attach the service bulletin, which makes it very easy to pop the old ones out. If you're struggling to get the old one out of the windstop, then you're not doing it right. It pops out easily. The new latches snap in.

I just did my left one. I noticed that the new one had black rubber while the original had a red rubber insert. It turns out, the rubber is just inserted and you can pull it right out to replace it. I put my original red rubber bumper on the new latch to keep the original look.
