Suspension Refresh on 2000 Boxster S alignment question

I have a 2000 Boxster S with 42K on it and my bump stops are rotted. I decided to just replace all 4 Struts, Inner and Outer Tie Rods, Coffin Arms, and Lower Control Arms while I am at it. I haven’t started it yet and am cobbing together the parts and basic tools. My concern is the alignment. Is there a trick to get it nominally close so I can drive it to the dealer to align the car with out destroying the car. The nearest dealer is 50mi away. Thanks, Pat

Google "DIY alignment" and you'll get many methods with strings, measuring tape, rods, etc. Pick one. Any one would be good enough to get you to the shop without tire damage.

I used the string method when I changed tie rods on my shark. Set the height of the string so it runs thru the wheel center.

Then measure the difference from the string to the front and back of the wheel - the green lines in this pic

Write them down and work towards the front being 1/16" longer than the rear. This will give you the needed tow in requirement.

This should get you in the ball park for your 50 mi journey. Before heading out that far, drive around the neighborhood and see how it feels.
