cash? no joke i dont remember when was the last time i held cash in my hand....
well actually the last time i did have it in my hand was when i bought the car...cash talks, but for everyday uses, seriously no idea |
I have a friend who claims it is a bad idea to carry tools in the car because the car knows, and will force you to use them.
She drove a '78 MGB from Denver to LA and then up to Seattle, and on a subsequent trip out east to New England and back, all without a single tool or spare part in the car, and never needed them. Of course subsequently she blew a fuel line about 20 miles from home and practically burned the poor thing to the ground, but, hey, stuff happens. |
Ive removed everything from the front trunk including the spare tire. In the cockpit I carry:
1 tire gauge 1 AAA card |
as good as the spare tire is...where the hell do u put ur lets say rear tire after a flat?

2. If passenger seat is occupied, bungee corded to rollbar and sitting on a bath towel. That's what I prepared for when I was driving back and forth to CA on vacation. Of course, #2 only works when it's not raining outside and the top can be lowered for the ride to the tire store where a new tire can be put on the rim. |

All this and I haven't seen the one thing I'd actually think about carrying, driver's gloves for the twisties!
I just keep a couple microfiber towels and bottle of water in the cabin just for any cleaning needs (even tho I don't allow open consumption of food or drink inside). Occasionally if I've been driving for awhile I'll use them so no hand moisture gets to the wheel/stick. Actually, I do keep the service manual in my trunk, because at home, work, or elsewhere, darnit I want it to be close by when I need to look something up! Besides that...everything else is just unnecessary weight (sorry honey!). -David |
