Top replacement - How to "smooth" canvas before install
Howdy all! DIY'ing a top replacement on my '00 986. Got the old one off without too much trouble.
I have the new top laid out, and because of how it was shipped (folded like a long rectangle shape), when I lay it out flat, there's some creases (not major) in the canvas I'd like to smooth out. A) Is there a good method for removing these shipping "creases"? B) Is that even something I need to worry about, or will they "disappear" or flatten out when I get it on the car? Thanks in advance! |
I've done a couple of mail order Box tops and never had an issue with creases from shipping after installing. General rule is to install the top, fasten it closed and park in the sun for a few days.
