1997 Boxster Convertible Top - Name That Part

After mounting a salvaged top on my 1997 Boxster, I noticed that the sides above the windows do not tuck in behind the trim as they should. Having read many threads on the subject, I decided to compare my old worn out factory top to the "new" salvaged top and discovered they are exactly alike. In addition, I discovered that an arced plastic piece is broken on both sides of the salvaged top and needs to be replaced for me to have any chance to have the edge "volunteer" to tuck in behind the arced facing piece as designed. Attached are photos of the "good" piece that came off my old top. Please help me identify the part name and number so I can try to find replacement for both sides.

Thanks in advance. Bill

Toppy986,

Thanks for sending a link to the invaluable catalogue. After looking closely at both sides of the part, I noticed the OEM part number written right on the back of the part and ordered one for both sides from Pelican Parts.

lol, i'm in the middle of DIY'ing a new top this weekend, and broke that exact piece on removal of old top (passenger side).

Re-ordered replacement for both sides (in expectation of maybe breaking again on re-install.

Passenger side is: 986.561.560.01 (may have a superseded part num on the last digit)

Pelican calls it a "Clamping Piece": https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/98656156001.htm?pn=986-561-560-01-OEM

(looks like yours is the driver side in the pic): https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/98656155901.htm?pn=986-561-559-01-OEM&bc=c&SVSVSI=0782
