door locked shut

recently replaced the locking mechanism on the passenger door. now the door is locked shut will not open from inside or outside. luckily the door panel is not on. any tips on how to get it open? thanks

You should be able to pull the tab on the actual latch mechanism.

nope neither the inside cable or the connection to the outrside handle works
