What is causing this high-pitched noise?
I am experiencing a high-pitched noise coming from the left side and am having trouble finding the cause.
I would like to hear your thoughts on the cause of the noise. A video of the noise, the characteristics of the noise, and what we have tried are listed below. https://youtu.be/0Cle-MUAB2Q ・A high-pitched noise that sounds like a "feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” ・It is coming from the left side of the vehicle. Not sure about front or rear. ・This noise is linked to vehcle speed and always sounds when the speed goes above about 40 km/h. The higher the speed, the higher the sound. ・Noise is not related to engine RPM or braking. (In the video, the clutch is disengaged and the brake is turned on and off, but there is no change.) ・Water temp Cold/Hot, Roof Open/Closed have no effect on the sound. ・Hub bearing inspection of all wheels is normal (no small noise when lifting up, shaking the tire, and turning it). ・Front bumper was removed and cleaned of dusts, have no change. Future plans I plan to tape up the front left radiator intake and see if the sound changes Are there any other items that should be inspected? Please help me by your knowledge. |
I would put a piece of painters tape over the opening between the front bumper and the hood. If the noise stops you will need to adjust your hood or bumper. The hood needs to sit a little below the bumper. If that doesn't stop the noise, then I would look into the fuel filler area.
