Double beep on locking saga.(Codes 01,44 & 47)
Cross posted from Pelican Forums.....
Hi, The 2002 Boxster S I have (UK spec) double beeps when you lock it - so you have to press the button again to acutally lock it. Occasionaly it all works OK for a wee while, but then starts to show signs again. The central locking switch has the red light on too, pressing it gets a double beep even when driving. The car has the codes 01, 44 and 47 against the I48 alarm system installed. I see from various leaked work shop manuals that it is suggest for 01: 1. Disconnect plug connection X 11 (driver's side). 2. Check the line from X 11 pin A3 (pin side) to the alarm control unit plug I, pin 5, for continuity. 3. Check the lines from X 11 pin A3 and pin 26 (sleeve side) for continuity. and for 44: 1. Disconnect plug connection X 11 (driver's side). 2. Ohmmeter at pin 26 (sleeve side) and pin A3. Display: < 5 Q So my educated guess is that X 11 is the fat connector on the body of the car inside the door crease. Anyone know if that is correct? It looks to my un-trined eye that getting that connector off might be a 'door off' job? Is it? If I take the inner panel off the drivers door and wiggle the wires enetering the door lock mechanism I get all sorts of weird electrical things happening windows in open postion etc. So I am left thinking I either have a harness integrity issue near the door lock mechansim or I have a door mechansim in poor health. Anyony had 01, 44 and 47 before and managed to fix it without part swapping everything? Cheers Adrian PS What is "sleeve side"? |
