Started the car, pulled out of my parking spot took off into the night... only 20 seconds into my drive, I hit a path of spinkler system run-off (while turning). Here's why I lost control... traction control was off. That was dumb...
The damage isn't too bad... mostly cosmetic from my initial inspection. I was the only person involved. I hit a Yeild sign (irony) and what I presume is a valet stand. The sound this accident caused was horrific, and drew a decent crowd at almost midnight. I'm not a drinker, but was given a sobriety test.

Well, at least you can buy a GT2 or GT3 bumper now with some or all of the insurance money, providing you call it in and make a claim.
That looks to be at least 3 large to fix. Silver's hard to match too.
Although it needs not be stated, I can almost guarantee you didn't recite Jeff's Porsche prayer before you fired her up last night oh so late, did you?
Let's be careful out there. <-- favorite TV quote from Hill Street Blues.

If you get enough back form your claim you can get a new drivers seat, lol. But seriously, glad your ok, I had to drive tonight in horrible weather and all I could think about was how everyones crashing. To tell you how bad it was, I was going down the highway in 4th and gave it some gas and started to fishtail, I regained controll in 2 seconds but its scary to be going that fast and start to loose it.

Jeph,
Sorry to hear this. I just sold a perfect silver Boxster bumper a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get much for it. I'd have been happy to send it down to you to minimize your restoration costs. Well, I guess you'll be wanting a GT3 bumper anyway. Glad you're O.K.

I love it when you post those flattering pictures of me. I've lost weight since then... so my smile is even wider. I'll have to find a picture of that for you.
It was my traction control, not PSM. I often turn it off because I feel more comfortable with a yellow light on on my dash. That way when the check engine light comes on, I can assume it's traction control and ignore it... -kidding of course.
I turn it off every now and then for kicks. I've learned the hard way that I will reserve that for the track only.
So, the positives from this situation:
- Learning a valuable traction control lesson
- Possible new front end...
Forgive this flawed photoshop job. It's actually the back of my car on an 02 Carerra front (psshh, with a front plate?). Oh, and it's lowered in this rendition.
What do you guys think?

I'd do it in a minute. In fact, if mine gets balled up, that's exactly what I'll do.

Reminds me when I bought my Boxster. Salesman took a drive with me for an explanation/training session. He pointed to a switch labeled "PSM". He said: "This is a switch you never shut off. PSM stands for Please Save Me!"
Glad it's only cosmetic, but still looks damn expensive. Sorry for you, mate!!
