Is this a Tiptronic transmission car?

fingersuk 08-10-2023 11:15 AM

yes
tiptronic

92857457303 is the part number???

JFP in PA 08-10-2023 11:25 AM

It is part of the transmission cooling system, and is listed as a discontinued product here in the US. Suggest checking with a dealer parts department over there.

Heater control valve $50-80. Got mine locally at sports car parts store a year or so back.

Porsche has an updated part 928-574-573-04, and it is part of the transmission cooling system

That part is readily available all over the place... which leads me to a question for JFP...

Could that part be bypassed, thus allowing coolant to run through to cool the tr an ny all the time?

I've a new one on my 98, installed during the tran s rebuild. When it leaks or fails... can it be bypassed? Thanks!

JFP in PA 08-11-2023 06:12 AM

Yes, it can be bypassed, but we have only done that as an emergency measure when parts were temporarily scarce. I have no idea what the long-term impact that would have on the Tip. Porsche typically does not throw in part without a reason, and I do know that Porsche recommends against it..............
