COMPATIBILITY-engine swap 986 Auto 3.2 into 3.2 Manual transmission

I have a 2001 S 3.2l manual that needs a new engine. I have a line on a low mileage 3.2l 2000-2001 engine that will come out of an automatic trans.car-I figure the flywheel and clutch will be reused (they are new), is there any other issues I should know about in doing this swap-ecu or anything else? Thanks for the time Rich

As long as you have your bad 3.2L engine to pull a few parts from it shouldn't be a problem.
  • Engine wire harness on the tiptronic has the harness for the transmission integrated with the engine harness.
  • The tubing for the brake booster vacuum line connects differently.
  • The Tiptronic has a heavier starter and alternator, but either will function.
  • Vacuum hoses on the Tiptronic include a connection for Transmission cooling valve.
Keep your current ECU (DME). Where there's a difference, just use the parts from your original engine for a clean swap.
