The scissor doors, big front spoiler, dramatic scoops, humps, all are good ideas by themselves, and maybe if they were designed to be unusual and with a unique style they would be good ideas here. But it's when you do everything together, slap the GT logo on the back, and cruise down the street with a dinky 3.2L under yer arse and expect to get respect... what a waste.

With that extra 40k, just trade in the Boxster and get a used 355. You'll still turn heads, but you'll still have your dignity while you do it.

I think that it would be an ok car, if the front bumper was an oem GT one, those things are awesome. Also, those wheels and the lambo doors... ick.

THis would be a good use of a wrecked Z-06, IMHO. If I ever had spare time, what a joy this would be to build. Only appx. $35K, too!

So what happens when you take those to the dealer to service them? How odd would that look?

"I'm here for the 60k service on my NSX" "We'll sir where is it?"

Never been a fan of trying to make a car something it's not. I saw a Fiero-Ferrari wanna be once, total POS. To take an already beautiful car like the Boxster and do this to it seems stupid to me..

I really like the headlights, much better then the standard boxster ones. It's pretty cool to see something like that, kinda like a concept car. Boggtown, your boxster looks pretty wicked. Meanest looking one i've seen in a while.

Thanks hdpt73. It will look even better when I put on my rear diffusers and GT3 bumper. I also wanted to mention that I will start a thread on the push button start I put in a month ago (just gotta take the pics first, lol)

I think it looked pretty good. I don't agree with slapping Carrera GT badging on it though.

I smoked the tailights, sidemarkers, and front corners (going to re smoke the front turn signals), put 19's on, put a black chrome exhaust tip on, and tinted the windows. Thanks guys. I didnt re paint the car, but its clean, lol. Heres an attachment of my sig, my geocities site keeps going over the limit so its not showing up all the time. Im thinking of putting it on some other site.

The overall appearance is not that awful....It looks pretty sharp for the low end side of the investment plan. I would not use my car as a donor but if you read the article it noted that the first car they used was a damaged Ebay boxster(I'll bet it cost 10k or less).

In any event I think the black one looks the best given the fact that the Black color by nature hides the look of the weather seal utilized on the lights. Not terrible.

Having said that, the red one(with the bastardized boxster hardtop and windows) looked really strange with the top in place.

In summary, I wouldn't do it, but who am I to question how someone else spends their money...I.E. the guy who donated the 05' Box. That just seems crazy!
