285/35-18 is a pretty wide tire for stock wheels 265/35-18 is normal for 18's
what are you running on the front?

this is for my 911 not the Boxster.

My 08 Box S LE came with ContiPro tires (I think it was III) and it was a very good tire - nice ride, good mileage (think it was 35K mi), and good handling. They're probably into version XI by now and they were somewhat expensive tires to replace, but I had very good luck with them. I didn't drive my LE on the track and just spirited drives at fun runs.
