Electrical gremlins in dash
 

In my Boxster the main display where the total distance etc) is shown will not go off when the key is removed. Also, the backlight of the complete instrument cluster flashes very briefly every 5 seconds.

I already replaced the ignition key component that seems to go faulty sometimes. did not fix it. The battery is new, 13.8 volts. The car runs fine, nothing else seems to be wrong.

Any suggestions?
