Starter issue after replacing the ignition switch
 

To solve an issue with the car not powering down fully I replace the ignition switch.

Only to run into another problem. When I try to start the car there is a soft click from the engine compartment (not the sound indication a low batter) and the car powers down fully. Need to disconnect and reconnect the battery to be able to try again.

Anybody any idea?
