Help: Engine cover not flush with body

Hi
When I fully close the convertible top, the cover/mechanism that hides the engine is not flush on the driver side but is flush on the passenger side as shown in the attached images.

How do I fix this or please advise on a way to figure out what is wrong here ?

Thank you in advance.

1) Not-flush on the driver side

2) Nicely fitting on the passenger side

Dumb error on my part while closing the engine cover properly. Not an issue anymore. How does one delete a post ?

As long as you posted we all could learn from (as you call it) your "dumb" error.......what caused it to not close even om both sides??

We've all done "dumb" things, and learn from those.

I opened the cover again, and saw that it has two grommet style things that fit into specific hexagonal shaped slots. I made sure those slots were aligned correctly and retried the whole operation again of opening the convertible top fully and then closing it back. I waited till the whole top and cover was flush with the body and then locked it in place.

I think the issue was that I had locked the convertible top sooner than expected maybe in the past.
