Time for a new lid
After 18 years (and 120,000 miles) it was time for a new top. I had a broken cable (main issue) and although the top looked okay from 10 feet away, it had a few holes and some pretty big scuffs. I checked reviews for upholsters in my area and was able to find a shop with consistently good reviews in the Denver area. All in I spent about $3500 installed. Don't know if that's the going rate or not but I'm very happy with the result. Seal gray with Bordeaux red. Couldn't be happier!

That's a great combination.

Nice....but expensive, but perhaps prices have gone up dramatically. I replaced my top 2-1/2 years ago and paid $1,800 installed. (all in for a GAHH black top, glass window).
You were wise to find an experienced Boxster top install shop. I've seen some horror stories in the past from owners who've used inexperienced shops. You never want someone to "learn" on your car! |
I like the look!
