Detailed the Boxster Yesterday

What better a way to spend a Monday when you have the day off? :p

Good 4 hours of effort. Used my go-to car wax, Collonite 845.

Looks great!

I really want to work on mine but have paint issues that I still haven't been able to correct to my satisfaction. But I keep plugging away lol!

Seadweller - would you post some pics of your interior, and let us know how your car is optioned - interior color, etc?

I have a '99 in Ocean Jade with the Sport Design option - black w/ the checkerboard pattern on the dash and door cards, sport seats, M030 suspension, etc.

Obviously there are few Ocean Jade cars around, and on the rare occasion I see one, it's usually a fairly nice optioned car.

Thanks!

Nice work.
That color...SUCH a Florida machine! Should be Miami Vice theme music (or modern-day equivalent  ) playing in the background.

A couple days ago considered doing the same to mine, but then I glanced outside..

Wow, that's some snow! For me, the novelty wears off pretty quickly! :D

Regarding the color, a buddy of mine found this one for sale about an hour away, and told me I had to go look at it. This was right after I sold my 911SC. He sent me pictures from the ad, and I told him I thought the color was awful. He said the color is difficult to photograph, and insisted I go see it in person, so I did. When the owner pulled the cover off, my pants fell around my ankles, and I lost any semblance of being in a negotiating position.

I threw a PPI out the window, and bought the car on the spot. 36K original miles, and every service record from the dealer from which it was purchased. They had also preemptively done the IMS and RMS. It was special ordered from a local Porsche dealer, and was garage kept under cover since the day it was bought. Never been in the rain. The original owners wife special ordered the car, and sold it to her brother after buying a 993 Turbo, and I bought the car from him.

He had it for only a short period of time, and was going to buy another car from his sisters stable. I actually picked the car up at his sisters house, and they had 4 or 5 Porsche's in the garage. Mostly 993's and 964's. I think the car he was buying from his sister was a 996 Turbo.

I've been asked 100 times where I had it painted, and whether it's an original color or not. I've also had other Boxster owners track me down to see the car, because they've only seen one in pictures. My wife even had a police officer pull her over to ask about the color. Crazy the attention the car gets. It does stick out in a sea of black, gray, and silver!
