'02 Boxster pax side door will not unlock --intermittent.
 

Hi folks. New user here with my first post.
Trying to DIY as much as possible for my fairly newly acquired boxster. I have found the posts here invaluable. Thank you all.

I have an intermittent issue: using the key or remote to unlock the car, both windows drop the required 1/4 inch or so, drivers' side always unlocks, but frequently the pax side will not unlock. I read somewhere (on this forum, I believe), but cannot not locate the post, that a slight tap with one's palm just above the door lock will work to unlock the pax door. Lo and behold that works virtually 100% of the time!

Does anyone have any insight to this issue. I know there are three switches in the door, but not sure which switch I should focus on--if anyway. Would love to get some direction before I remove the door card.

Different symptom but may be related, i.e. cracked solder connection on the PCB of the latch mechanism. Check post #13 of this thread.

Thank you Grant! Alot of good info in the thread you directed me to. I will try the steps. I think it may well have something to do with a connection as the tapping of the door gets it to work.
