Enroute to vegas and problem
Have drivers side tranny mount leaking. Enroute to Vegas. What happens if it loses all fluid in the mount. Mount was supposedly new and recently installed. Do I need to cancel trip?

Will drop on one side. Depends on clearance between exhaust pipes and stabilizer bar.
Other than that - rougher ride/sound and that's about it. The tranny will not fall out. |
Tranny mount Stopped leaking...........
On the way to Vegas I stopped and visited a brother in Phoenix where I left leak spots from the drivers side tranny mount on his driveway. Then had leak spots where I stayed for 4 days. Got home and after it sitting overnight there were NO leak spots.
Does anyone know how much oil is in those mounts? Is there any way to tell when it has or if it has lost all the oil? With all the oil drained from it I might have a hard time proving it was defective. As I stated it was new and installed just before my Vegas trip. |
I think it leaks much more when under load/moving than stationary. If there is a crack in the mount (rubber bag) it would leak under stress and then when parked any excess would drip to the floor.

After driving 6 hours from Vegas it now looks like I've got one small spot after it sitting overnight.

Sure it's coming from the mount and not something else?

Could be spark plug tubes?

Looks too brown to me...
