Spring Settling

I've just installed coil overs on my 2001 Boxster and read where people talk about letting the springs "settle" for a bit. I want to let that happen before making the final height adjustments and getting it aligned. Is there an amount of time it should sit or number of miles to drive for that to happen? Not sure where I want to end up with the height but certainly don't want to bottom out on every little bump. Measuring from the ground to the wheel arch through the center of the wheel (its nearly impossible to get to the measuring points suggested in the manuals) I get the following:

Drivers Passenger
F 24 1/2" 24 3/8"
R 24 1/4" 24 3/8"

And the obligatory pics for reference.
