2003 boxster-s lower breather hose seal

Hello,

I am replacing aos on my 2003 Boxster-S because I had oil dripping from intake plenum (tee) and resonance tube and plenty of oil in the top breather hose. There was no smoke or hunting idle.

The lower breather hose connection to aos is quite wet and I found that there is a seal (not o ring) 996-107-122-00 that can be replaced.

Question: have you changed that seal whiling changing aos and what’s the best way to get the old one out as the access is very limited.

I have replaced both the top & bottom breather hoses that connect to the AOS. The both have o-rings on them. Never replaced the o-ring unless it was bad and dont believe any of the writeups suggest it either when doing just the AOS.

btw...you do not want to have to replace the lower hose, it isn't an easy job with the engine in the car.

What year is your car. Does the seal goes in the breather tube or on the aos and tube goes over it

He said it's a 2003.

The oring is on the hose side both for top & bottom, there is no seal or oring on the AOS for either hose.

Stl, I believe that the AOS hoses have their O-rings on the internal side of the connector, I remember lubricating them prior of installation,
but that was several years ago.. :p

Nope, there are no orings on the inside or the outside. The upper & lower hoses connect on the outside of the male end. O-ring is on the hose end.
