Boxster 98
I wanted to ask you experts. What could I realistically expect to get if I sold my 98 Boxster with 60K miles and excellent condition ?
|
base, options, history, pictures, etc?
Right now, $8k is easy to get. Just depends on the buyer. For a base I think (my opinion) anything over $10k is way over priced regardless of miles/condition. Once you get into that range it isn't far from a 996. Question is, how fast do you want to sell it? I have seen people price their cars to the point where they will sit on them for months/year or more cause they think it's worth too much. Keep in mind 2600 miles per year avg isn't necessarily a good thing for a Porsche. Many variables here but that few of miles could put some off. One thing you can do is take it by Carmax and have them give you a price for them to buy it, then add 30%-50% to get a realistic retail price to sell on your own. Dont be insulted by what they offer, you are just doing it to get a ballpark. |
Prices are creeping up right now on all used cars. You may be able to get more than most would think.

Boxster Value
Another approach that you can take is to check-out the Boxster sales that occur each week on BaT. At any given time there are 3-5 auctions going on and, as such, there is a great deal of sold cars over the past couple of years from which you could study value. BaT provides access to past sales. Boxsters on BaT do very well, very well. Someones opinion of value is one thing, the actual sales in the market place establish true value/potential. Good luck!
